“How do you view an event and what are your insights on the particular event?”
This is one of the questions asked by Elaine Morais in her book ;
Academic Writing for Beginners.
Dr. Morais suggested that a daily log or journal is an excellent idea
to note down observations about significant happenings each day. This
log/journal activity is supposed to train a student/future student
(like me, yes for the 3rd time) to be observant and over time, the
logs will become a source of ideas that you can use when you need to
write.
Unfortunately, nothing significant has happened to me today, or this
week. (Would you consider getting your salary early as significant? )
I suppose I can alternatively look for significant happenings in
others’ lives but that sounds like writing as a reporter for a local
tabloid.

Significant happenings?

I thought I saw Bariah (or someone who look exactly like her, or maybe
it was her twin) at Jalan Baru two days ago.

Update: yes, it was Bariah!

Other happenings? I went to Teluk Anson yesterday morning. I just
realized how much I love the mornings. Birds flutter away, people
pacing their ways. It’s a usual, ordinary sight (some would say
‘boring’) ; just like yesterday and the day before. But not everyone
has the opportunity to enjoy another morning.

Yes, we are the fortunate ones, given the chance for a fresh start;
every single day.
The morning sun gives warmth to the cold morning; and hope for a
better day. Every single day.
